Network Configurations
Network configurations include TCP/IP settings and network services settings. You must know your local area network (LAN) settings to correctly complete network configurations.

| TCP/IP Settings | According
to your local network, you can choose the following two methods to configure
TCP/IP setting: 1. Obtain TCP/IP settings automatically via DHCP If your network supports DHCP, the Disk On-line Server will automatically use DHCP protocol to retrieve the IP (Internet Protocol) address and related information. 2. Use fixed IP address settings Use the IP (Internet Protocol) address setting that user defined. |
| Microsoft Networking | For
users using the Disk On-line Server on Microsoft Windows operating systems,
you must start Microsoft network service. If the local network has WINS installed, by using the WINS server IP address Microsoft Windows will easily locate the Disk On-line Server in the local network. |
| Apple Networking | For
users using the Disk On-line Server on Apple's Mac operating system, you
must use AppleTalk network. If your AppleTalk network uses extended networks, which assigned multiple zones, please assign a zone name to the Disk On-line Server. If you do not wish to assign a network zone, please enter asterisk (*). Asterisk (*) is the default setting. |
| Unix / Linux NFS | For users using Disk On-line Server on Unix / Linux operating system computer or server, you must start Unix / Linux NFS service. The Disk On-line Server supports NFS version 2.0. To correctly use NFS service, you must assigned User's UID and IP address. Please select User Management · Users · NFS Settings to start setup. |
| Web File Manager | Other than standard OS support, you have the choice to use web browser to access your files on to the Disk On-line Server. If your Disk On-line server is connected to the internet and uses a valid IP address, the Disk On-line Server allows you to access your files using web browser from any where around the word. |
