Server Administration comprises of the following major sections:
Quick Configuration
Quick Configuration will automatically appear at the first time you enter the Server Administration page. You will have to:
1. Enter the server name.
2. Change the administrator password.
3. Enter the date, time and time zone for this server.
4. Select the filename encoding setting for non-Unicode O.S. or FTP applications.
5. Enter the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway for this server.
6. Initialize the disk volume on this server.
System Settings
System Settings page enables you to configure the following options:
Server Name
Set the name of this server.
Date & Time
Adjust the date and time of this server.
Filename Encoding Setting
Select the filename encoding setting to view file names properly in operating systems which do not support Unicode.
View System Settings
View all of the system settings.
Network Settings
Select the Network Settings link will enter the Network Settings page for the following setup:
TCP / IP Configuration Configure the network interface.
Microsoft Networking Configure file service for Windows clients.
Apple Networking Configure file service for Macintosh clients.
Web File Manager Enable / Disable Web File Manager.
FTP Service Configure FTP service.
Multimedia Station Enable / Disable Multimedia Station.
Download Station Enable / Disable Download Station.
Web Server Enable / Disable Web Server.
View Network Settings View all of the network settings.
Device Configuration
Select the device configuration link will enter the Device Configuration page where the following can be configured:
SATA Disk
Configure SATA disk.
USB Disk
Configure USB disks.
USB Printer
Configure USB printer.
eSATA Disk
Configure eSATA disks.
User Management
Select the User Management link will enter the User Management page where the following can be configured:
Users
Configure users.
User Groups
Configure user groups.
Quota
Enable / Disable System Quota.
Network Share Management
Select the Network Share Management link will enter the Network Share Management page where the following can be configured:
Create
Create new network share.
Property
Change network share's name, path and comment.
Access Control
Set access right for a network share.
Delete
Remove a network share.
System Tools
Select the System Tools link will enter the System Tools page where the following can be configured:
Alert Notification
Configure the e-mail notification settings for alerts.
Restart / Shutdown
Restart / shutdown this server.
Hardware Settings
Configure miscellaneous system hardware settings.
System Update
Update system software.
Change Logo
Change logo on the home page.
Remote Replication
Replicate the local folder to the remote server.
Backup / Restore / Reset Settings
Back up, restore or reset system configuration settings.
Event Logs
Selecting the Event Logs link will enter the Event Logs page where the following can be configured:
Event Logs
Show information / warnings / errors recorded by the system.
