TCP/IP Configuration
According to your local network, you can choose the following two methods to configure the TCP/IP settings:

Obtain IP address settings automatically via DHCP |
If your network supports DHCP, this system will automatically use DHCP protocol to retrieve the IP address and
related information. |
| Use static IP address |
Use the assigned IP address settings. |
If you choose to use the static IP address, you need to enter the following fields:

Description |
| Fixed IP Address |
IP address is a 32-bit digit used to differentiate each single entity on a network. The IP address is separated
into 4 groups of eight bits separated by dots. (e.g: 192.168.0.1). |
| Subnet Mask |
The subnet mask defines computer within the same local network. It is a 32-bits digit. (e.g: 255.xxx.xxx.xxx) |
| Default Gateway |
Gateway is generally referred to an interchange point that connects two networks, such as LAN and WAN.
If you do not need to configure Gateway address, please set it as "0.0.0.0".

| Primary DNS Server |
Configure primary DNS server.

| Secondary DNS Server |
Configure secondary DNS server.

If you wish to change the system settings please select the items listed above and click the [Apply] button.
Microsoft Networking

Description |
| Enable file service for Microsoft networking |
For users using Microsoft Windows, you must enable this service to access the files on the network share folders.
After selecting the option, you must assign the workgroup name. This can accommodate up to 15 characters but must
exclude the following: " + = [ ] , ; / \ : | * ? < > . " Note: The first character cannot
be a period (.). |
| Standalone Server |
Use local users for user authentication. |
| Server Description |
Describe Disk On-line Server, e.g. administrator name, department, or location of the server, for users to identify the server. |
| Workgroup |
Specify the workgroup that Disk On-line Server belongs to. The workgroup is a computer group unit in Microsoft Windows network for network sharing. |
| Enable WINS server |
If your local network does not have a WINS server, you may enable this option to provide WINS server function.
This will help you to easily locate this server within Windows network neighborhood. |
| Use the specified WINS server |
If your local network has WINS server installed already, please enter the IP address here. Please enter 0 for all
the blanks if you do not want to enable WINS server support. |
| Domain Master |
Domain master is responsible for keeping track of computers available on the network or the computers that have
announced themselves as master browser for offering services. Note: If a Windows NT/200x/XP
system is set as the domain master , do not set this NAS as domain master . |
To confirm these settings, please click the [Apply] button.
Apple Networking
For users using Apple's Macintosh operating system, you must enable this option.
If your AppleTalk network uses extended networks, which is assigned with multiple zones, please assign a zone name.
The zone name must not exceed 15 characters and cannot contain letters listed below:
" + = [ ] , ; / \ : | ? < > . "
If you do not wish to assign a network zone, please enter asterisk (*). Asterisk (*) is the default setting.
If you want these settings to take effect, please click the [Apply] button.
Web File Manager
Other than standard OS support, you have the option of using web browser to access your files on this server.
If your system is connected to the Internet and uses a public IP address, the web file manager will allow you to access
your files using web browser from any where around the world.
To confirm these settings, please click the [Apply] button.
FTP Service
To use the FTP software to access the network share folders, you must enable this service.

| Port Number |
The port number assigned for FTP service. The default port number for FTP service is 21. |
| Maximum Connections |
The maximum number of clients that can be connected at the same time. |
| Unicode Support |
Select to enable or disable Unicode Support. The default setting is No. If your FTP client does not support Unicode, please select "No" for Unicode Support and select a supported filename encoding from [Filename Encoding Setting] under [System Settings] so that the folders and files on FTP can be properly shown.

To confirm these settings, please click the [Apply] button.
Multimedia Station
To use Multimedia Station, you must enable this service. When this service is enabled, you can link to Multimedia Station by clicking the hyperlink at the bottom of this page.
To confirm these settings, please click the [Apply] button.
Download Station
To use Download Station, you must enable this service. When this service is enabled, you can link to Download Station by clicking the hyperlink at the bottom of this page.
To confirm these settings, please click the [Apply] button.
Web Server
To use Web Server, you must enable this service. When this service is enabled, you can link to Web Server by clicking the hyperlink at the bottom of this page.
To confirm these settings, please click the [Apply] button.
View Network Settings
You can view all current network configuration and service settings from this page.
When you have finished viewing, click the [Close] button to return to network setting.
